Tyrany

I shall open with a quote from King James I, “The Trew Law of Free Monarchies”. “Kings are called Gods by the prophetical King David, because they sit upon GOD his throne in the earth, and have the count of their administration to give unto him.”

The whole premise of these later thinkers after their experience with absolute rulers is that left to their own devices, every man given unbridled power will become abusive and corrupt. We are moving in the direction of the time of William and Mary, which was a time of privilege for Anglicans, but a time of repression and misery for everyone else. And we have to remember that all these political analyses were in the interest of Christian liberty and Christian freedom and Christian life and Christian property. Even the founding fathers of this country were interested in the rights and liberties of Christians. They weren’t interested in the rights and freedoms of the native population of this country and the laws and Constitution reflect this. Neither were they interested in the rights and freedoms of the African population since they were viewed as heathens and whatever their native religions were, they weren’t even considered when the laws defining freedom and liberty were set forth. In the first place the African Slave was brought here by England, not early settlers. It was England that founded Virginia and the cotton plantations. It was England that was profiting off the free labor of the African slave. The only change to their status when the Constitution was ratified was they became the property of the United States instead of England. It is for that reason we need to consider the thinking of John Locke in much broader terms. No religion or religious principle of any kind can ever be made the official worship of this nation. We are a nation of many different people with may different faiths and beliefs. It is that plurality that gives strength to this country just as diversity gives strength to natural lands. It is the diversity of ideas from which innovation springs. It is for that reason that we have to, with all our might, resist making this nation a Christian Nation where all who are not Christian would immediately have their freedom taken away. If this nation is going to continue to play a role in the world then we have to remain a secular egalitarian society. We lost so much of the wisdom of the Native American people because we didn’t put them on an even footing with the rest of us. We lost so terribly much of the richness of the Africans who were brought to this country because we didn’t allow their memories from their homeland to blossom in this country. We need to step away from the course that will limit the expression of those who differ from our opinion. We need to broaden the protections of the Bill of Rights to extend freedom and liberty to all people regardless of their personal philosophy or religious beliefs. If we were to teach religion in schools, we would have to teach all the religions in schools. We would spend all our time and budget teaching religion and would have nothing left over to teach civic functions that keep food on the table, water at the tap, clean air to breathe and a comfortable environment to live in. To all who wish for their particular religion to be the ultimate religion of the world, let me say that religion is a very personal thing that has deep meaning to the person who believes in a particular way. Let’s remember that everyone has very deep personal feelings as well that may not be exactly like our own. If we are going to bring freedom to the world, then we will have to re-write our constitution with representatives from all the worlds cultures involved in the process. We would then need to have that constitution ratified by all the worlds cultures. That would be the only way to bring freedom to all. Everything else is just an excuse to conquer and subjugate. No one in the world will long tolerate being subjugated by a disinterested nation. It also takes enormous energy to maintain colonies, as those colonies will always be waiting for the opportunity to throw off the oppression of their colonial oppressors. Look at the cost of the war in Iraq. George W. Bush wants another 140 billion to maintain our presence in that country. What do you imagine it would cost to maintain a presence in Iran? You can double or triple the cost of the war in Iraq which now stands at almost 500 billion dollars. We already have a debt of 7.9 trillion dollars, and a war with Iran would probably send it to 10 trullion dolars. At 6% interest that works out to 600 billion dollars that would not be available for projects in the United States. It means that taxes will have to increase sometime after George W. leaves office, making it look like his predecessor caused the problem. People have very short memories, something politicians count on. If the United States did invade Iran with the intent of destroying their nuclear infrastructure, it would cost 3 million Iraqi lives initially. Over the long run, because of the resulting nuclear contamination, it is estimated that as many as 30 million people in Iran, Afghanistan and Pakistan could die over the next 10 years. I know the Iranian people, they are a very proud people. Iranians are very industrious and if threatened, they won't back down. They have a right to do nuclear research. We can trump them by advancing our own research so that it renders old fashion nuclear power plants obsolete. It is easy to destroy, which is the only thing that George W. Bush seems to be good at. It is hard work to build. But when you are finished with hard work, you have the fruits of you labor to enjoy. When you destroy, the only thing left the is misery and desolation to contemplate. Let's build America. Let's climb the mountain of difficulty and conquer our own reservations we have about our own ability. Let's let the Iranians build their nuclear infrastructure. Let us build systems that place us directly in the 21st century. Lets go beyond nuclear to the next level of scientific understanding and development. Let's build a new transportation systems that aren't limited by the traffic jams that plague our freeways. Lets build an energy systems that produce no pollution or greenhouse gasses that threaten our daily lives. Let's build an energy system that requires no oil at all. If we don't need oil, then we have no need to worry about any country cutting off our oil supply. Building a new energy system isn't easy and will take the sweat of all of us. But we already have a lot of it already in place. The power grid is already half built, we only need to beef it up. Our transportation system can still function on hydrogen produced from our new energy systems while we convert to an all electric mag-lev system that can use computer technology to speed all vehicles quickly and safely to their destination. Don't buy into the oil companies scare tactics that keep us fearful of any thing but our gas guzzling cars. Say no to the oil companies. Believe in ourselves that we can build the necessary systems to end our addiction to the oil companies. WE don't need the oil companies to survive. In fact our survival may depend on our rejection of the oil companies. Don't allow us to go to war in Iran. Remember, whatever freedom you take away from someone else, you take away from yourself. Remember that Queen Mary I, a Catholic, was intolerant of the protestants in England, burning 300 at the stake. After Elizabeth I restored the Anglican church to power, and the Catholics, or papists as they were called were oppressed, a group of terrorists led by Guy Fawkes, a Catholic, attempted to blow up Parliament. see:

What is important here is that the behavior that we deem evil in the Muslim world, is just behavior any oppressed people would exhibit. None of us would do any differently if a foreign power forced laws and a way of life upon us that we detested. If you don't like a particular peoples belief system just work harder in your pursuit of your own way of life instead of marching over to their house to kill them just because you don't like what they think. Think about it. If you kill them to prevent them from believing differently from yourself, then you have to fear someone else killing to prevent you from believing the way that you do. Say no to President George W. Bush and is hate campaign against the Middle East. Hate is Hate is Hate. Stop the Hate so we all can live in peace to explore our own ideas and beliefs.
